You totally got 'him'... He was a teacher when I went to MVPS over 25 years ago. Warm, friendly, attentive, adored. You have managed to capture all of these things in the one picture. It is hard to believe he has retired. What a beautiful photograph and lasting memory of a fantastic teacher.
